Our experience
Having tried out a variety of Google’s AI experiments, my experience with TextFX has been one of the most creatively stimulating. This isn’t your typical content generation tool that spits out a whole article; it’s more like a creative sparring partner that helps you break through writer’s block by playing with language.
What immediately stands out is that it was co-developed with rapper Lupe Fiasco, and it really shows in the tool’s focus. It’s a goldmine for anyone working with lyrics, poetry, ad copy, or any creative writing where wordplay and unique angles matter. For instance, I used ‘Scene’ to describe a mundane location, and the results were instantly evocative and descriptive—something I’d have spent a good 15 minutes trying to come up with on my own.
It’s clear that the platform is designed to augment human creativity, not replace it. I found myself using it for brainstorming and lateral thinking rather than writing full drafts. It’s fantastic for finding that one perfect simile or discovering a new perspective on a topic using the ‘POV’ tool.
